Matching Band for 3-Row Engagement Ring

Last week we posted on the most popular upcoming trend for 2017: the multi sided three row diamond engagement ring setting such as the RS-126. People love these settings for their bright sparkly look and they pair amazingly well with a variety of center stone shapes, ring designs, and metal colors. Because these bands are slightly thicker and have diamonds on all sides, picking a wedding and to go along with it can be a bit unnerving because of how the two rings will lay together. Thankfully we have been able to customize tons of bands to go along with this design and we will break some of them down for you.

Firstly it is important to think about how you will be wearing your engagement ring set. What this means is you have to ask yourself: 1. Do you want to wear the engagement ring separate from the wedding on different hands?  Additionally, do you see yourself retiring your engagement ring from daily use after you get married and only wearing the wedding band? (Think about work, your daily life, etc...)  or   2. Will you always be wearing the engagement ring and wedding band together on the same hand at all times every day?  These questions have no right or wrong answer. With the wedding band you always want to take into consideration what your day to day life consists of and how wearable and comfortable you want your rings to be.

The first option
you can pair with your three row engagement ring is a wedding band featuring a single row of diamonds down the center. This type of ring will not add too much bulk to your engagement ring set and still allows your diamond setting to take center stage. This particular band will slide up right next to the engagement ring for a flush fit.  For someone who is satisfied with the sparkle provided by their engagement ring and wants to keep the rest of the look understated, this is the perfect set up.  You can also consider mixing up the colors and making your wedding band in rose or yellow gold to provide some great contrast.

The second option is pairing it with a band that matches which means the wedding band itself will also feature three rows of diamonds on the band. You can of course opt for something that looks like an exact match of your engagement ring band which will give you a beautifully balanced look.  Many assume that wearing a three row wedding band side by side with another three row ring will defeat the purpose of having sparkle show from all angles.  While two sides may be partially blocked when worn together, the diamonds brilliance will still reflect off each other.  Also, when there may be times when you only want to wear one ring at a time and in those cases you will always be able to see the multi-sided diamond bands in full view.

Three row engagement ring with three row wedding bandIf you want there to be some sort of differentiation between the 3 rows of diamonds on the wedding band and three rows of diamonds on the engagement ring, opt for a wedding band that has larger diamonds. Shown here we have paired the classic RS-126 with a custom wedding band that has larger than usual diamonds down the center row of the band, and smaller diamonds on the sides.  The smaller diamonds along the perimeter of the ring allow the wedding band to still remain relatively close to the hand without adding too much height to your ring. If you opted for larger diamonds on all 3 sides of the shank, it might end up being too tall and bulky of a ring to sit perfectly with your engagement ring.

Another option for a band that perfectly matches is one that is going to save a bit of money as well ;) Our iconic 3 row diamond band can be transformed keeping the same 3-row/3-D structure however, you can opt to delete one row of diamonds from the outer perimeter engagement ring. By doing this, you can then also delete 1 row of diamonds from your 3 row diamond wedding band. This way, you will have a total of 4 diamond rows (instead of 6) and the 2 center rows will sit next to each other and have no diamonds on them whatsoever. Still not sure? Check out this video, showing the two sided engagement ring paired with a two sided band. This option works best if you plan to always wear your engagement ring and wedding band together on the same hand at all times because otherwise you might notice the edge of diamonds missing from either of the rings. However if this would not bother you then it is definitely a great option too!

Wearing engagement ring and wedding band on separate handsIf you plan on wearing the bands on separate hands or just wearing the band alone day to day, there is truly no limit to the type of wedding band you can get. Essentially this will mean your new wedding band does not have to match the exact design or diamond setting style of your engagement ring. This leaves you open to an endless amount of options that you can mix and match depending on your style.

Normally these wedding bands don’t pair perfectly next to engagement ring depending on the style however wearing these separately gives a beautiful bright look. To keep the metal colors cohesive you can opt to also have the wedding band done in the same gold or white metal color you originally selected.

Our classic three row diamond engagement ring pairs amazingly well with a multitude of bands. You can mix and match colors, designs, diamond setting styles and still have a beautiful and unique wedding set!
