Rounded vs. Square Pave bands from Lauren B

Customizing your engagement ring with Lauren B leaves you with endless options. We allow our clients to choose every aspect of their special ring from the halo style, attachment to the band, and even the shape of the band. Today we want to discuss rounded vs. square pave bands and how the look differs for each design

Single Row:  Rounded

Typically with our thinnest engagement ring designs the band will have a rounded feel which is comfortable and light on the hand. The rounded look will leave just a touch of metal on the edges to accommodate the rounding of the metal. Our most popular design have a single row of diamonds on the band with a rounded band such as RS-63, RS-119, and RS-217. We can create this rounded band for really any thickness  band you like!

Single Row: Square

We also have bands with more of a square edge to them. When it comes to selecting a square band the appeal is that the diamonds reach further along the edge of the ring creating a very sparkly, clean, and modern look. The RS-46 model is the perfect example of this design! The square edge of the engagement ring will also line up perfectly flat with the square edge of the matching wedding band as shown below

One of our most popular and intricate designs is the three row pave band. This setting styles features 3 rows of diamonds on the band. What we love about this style is that you can view the diamonds on all sides of the band for a 3 dimensional effect. Customizing this band will also mean that you can pick if you would like the band to look more rounded or more square.

Three Row Pave Band

For this design if you are not certain what to pick them we would recommend to take the shape of your center stone into account. If your center stone is a rounded shape such as oval or pear then a rounded three row pave band will look great.

If your center diamond is a square or rectangular shape such as princess, radiant,  or emerald cut then a 3 row square pave band is a nice option.

Square 3 Row Band

Cushion and round center stone shapes are more of a toss up and can fit into either of these categories! Don’t forget these are just suggestions if you are having a difficult time deciding but you can also absolutely go for a square shape center stone on a rounded band for some contrast. It is all up to you!
