As we cross the halfway point of the year and make our way through the dog days of summer, it is time to put together a list of engagement ring trends. Before the holiday rush starts around late September until the end of the year, here are some trending ideas that could lead you in the right direction when it comes to select your perfect piece

Radiant Cut Diamonds (Elongated):

We have mentioned this diamond shape as increasing in popularity late last year. We have seen it really skyrocket of late. Elongated shapes such as ovals and pears have performed well for the past couple of years. Now the radiant cut as an engagement ring trend is starting to catch up quickly. The appeal of this diamond shape is its symmetrical appearance and unparalleled sparkle. At Lauren B we keep an inventory of specially cut radiant diamonds that feature sharper faceting on the pavilion of the diamond. This allows for a large face up appearance and a crisper sparkle. This diamond cut works well with many of our custom ring designs and clients particularly go for our non-halo pave designs like the RS-119 Signature Wrap style or the diamond prong look based on model RS-318

Pear Shapes and Rose Gold

Both of these have been in play for quite some time but now more so than ever they are being used in combination for engagement ring designs. There is something about the gracefully elongated shape of the center-stone accentuated by the subtle rose gold. While most of the pear shape engagement ring designs shown on our website are done in white gold or platinum, our clients are going the custom route in creating some beautiful halo and non-halo designs in rose gold. For our pear shape loose diamond stock, we ensure properly proportioned stones (not too long or too wide) that face up well on the hand and have an even sparkle throughout

Moissanites

This diamond alternative has been unstoppable in 2018. While competition from pricier lab created diamonds and others persists, moissanites have held their ground. They are the number one choice for someone after the look of a diamond but without its hefty price tag. To add to that, we have been custom cutting elongated shapes in various cuts to give our clients more variety.

Of note is the elongated cushion cut and ovals with a longer appearance than those provided by Charles and Colvard. As far as the most popular shape or ring style with a moissanite center-stone, there is no single answer. Clients are opting for everything from simple solitaires to our most intricate three row band designs and detailed halo looks. Any ring design on our website can be created for a moissanite so let your imagination run wild.

Vintage Inspired Bands

Vintage style wedding band pairings have been a go-to for many future brides. The engagement ring designs we have become known for usually feature a delicate look of micro-pave set stones. To contrast that look, our clients are going for retro inspired wedding bands that often feature bezel set diamonds in various shapes and metal colors. The contrast created helps both your engagement ring and wedding band stand out without taking away from each other

Custom

We carry over 300 engagement rings in stock and available for purchase set with diamond, moissanite or color gemstone centers. 9 out of 10 clients prefer to create their ring from scratch and base it on different aspects of individual rings.
